Material
Nexerse is capable of working with a variety of different materials. Some of these materials include Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Carbon Steel, and more. Here are examples of the most popular materials we use.
We can also provide custom alloys of one metal with another or several metals to increase its rigidity and corrosion resistance to meet the unique needs of your application.

Copper
Expanded metal products are offered in copper, which is a soft, malleable, and ductile material. It contains high thermal and electrical properties that may be used for architectural or building purposes. Copper develops a natural patina from oxidation but the material is 100% recyclable.

Cupro-Nickel
Cupro-Nickel is an alternative expanded metal that maintains excellent formability. As an alloy of copper, it contains nickel along with iron and manganese for increased strengthening. It is silver in color and also highly resistant to corrosion from seawater and other related environments.

Titanium
Titanium is an expanded metal material with low density and the highest strength to weight ratio of any metallic element. It also has the highest corrosion resistance in seawater and chlorine. It may be alloyed with other elements to produce a strong, lightweight material. Titanium is nonmagnetic with low thermal and electrical properties.

Nickel
Nickel is an expanded metal material with excellent formability and high ductility. It is considered corrosion resistant because it slowly oxidizes at room temperature. Additionally, it has magnetic characteristics and has good thermal and electrical properties.

Weathering-Steel
Owned by United States Steel and trademarked as COR-TENⓇ, weathering steel removes the need for painting because of its natural yet unique oxidized look. Architectural projects benefit from this material due to its stable rust-like appearance when exposed to the weather. It is effectively resistant against corrosive effects of rain, snow, ice and fog.

Uses

The versatility of expanded metal materials enables them to meet the needs of any application. Expanded metal can be used for support, protection, conductivity, shielding, sound, light, heat, air and liquid applications. Architectural applications include fences, partitions, ceilings, speaker grills. Some decorative applications include interior and exterior design of exterior walls, shading, sun visors, building cladding, and ceiling and wall lighting. These materials are designed and manufactured to meet your needs.
The expanded metal we choose effectively meets the safety. Its anti-skid performance is very suitable for sidewalks, bridges and stair treads. In security applications, our protective fences, partitions and cage products are easy to implement and provide incredible durability and coverage when tested. Our products operate well under conditions related to heating, ventilation or air conditioning.
We can also expanded thinner metals into the microgrid for various electronics, acoustics, batteries, fuel cells, heating, filtration and so on.
Features & Benefits

Expanded metals are very versatile and can be used for sheets or coils. Roll delivery reduces waste and increases cost savings. For example, we can use less than 26 inches of material to produce 10 foot long sidewalks without generating residual waste; No other method is as cost-effective as ours. It is uniformly cut and stretched to form a diamond shaped opening pattern on the sheet. The pattern will vary according to the specification, material type and size required by the customer. It also has an integral structure and will not spread under pressure. Our steel mesh is the most practical and economical way to ensure the strength of materials and the safety of all people.
Custom sizes and 2D and 3D microgrid designs are available to accommodate alternative applications. Through our professional manufacturing methods, the pattern can be modified to increase or decrease the open area. All expanded metals contain solid or ribbon portions in the sheet to enhance the visual appearance of the material. All expanded metal products allow light, air, water and sound to pass through. We ensure that our metals work under any conditions you may be worried about. "
Finishing

Our expanded metal meshes are available in base metals of aluminum, carbon steel, titanium, silver, copper, brass, nickel, mild steel and zinc as well as alloys of stainless steel. Protective layering is a critical factor to consider for corrosion resistance, hardening and protection of base materials. Niles Expanded Metals offers multiple options for protective layering including, but not limited to, anodization, e-coating, powder coating, and painted layers for metals and other composite structures.
Anodized metals provide decorative and corrosion resistant surfaces. The finish is effective in architectural applications such as roofs, walls, ceilings, floors and more. It is also safe for the environment, having little to no negative effects on land, in air or water.
An e-coat promotes adhesion with increased wear protection and corrosion resistance. The finish may be produced at any desired coating thickness. E-coats are easier to apply and provide an equal distribution of the coating to any surface.
